TEACHING PRACTICE- PHASE 1( WEEKLY REFLECTION-4 )

The fourth week (04-08-25 to 08-08-25) of my teaching practice at NSS HSS Madavoor was both productive and enriching. By this stage, I had become more familiar with the students, the school environment, and the overall teaching routine. My confidence in classroom management and lesson delivery improved significantly. The students were also more responsive and engaged during my classes.

This week, I completed 'graphical representation of motion and velocity' from the unit 'Equations of Motion' for the 9th class. For the 8th class, chemistry, I covered classification of elements from the unit 'Elements and compounds'. For the Physics subject on 8th class I taught the topics force, contact force, non-contact force and frictional force. I chose concept attainment model for the topic frictional force.

There were various extra-curricular activities like quiz program, JRC programs etc. There were also celebrations related to Hiroshima day on August 6. There were rallies and students made paper cranes, posters etc.

I tried to incorporate various teaching aids such as charts, PowerPoint slides, and group discussions to make the lessons more interactive.

I also used formative assessment techniques like short quizzes and oral questioning to evaluate student understanding. These helped me identify areas where students needed further clarification.

From this week’s experiences, I learned the importance of lesson planning, student engagement, and adaptability. I realized that every class is different and requires flexibility in approach. Continuous reflection on my teaching methods is helping me grow as an effective educator. Overall, Week 4 was a turning point in my teaching practice journey. I felt more confident and connected with the students and staff. The practical insights gained this week will definitely help me in my future teaching.
