TEACHING PRACTICE- PHASE 1( WEEKLY REFLECTION-5 )
The fifth week (11-08-25 to 14-08-25) of my teaching practice at NSS HSS Madavoor marked another meaningful chapter in my journey as a budding teacher. By now, the school felt like a second home — the classrooms, corridors, and even the morning assembly routines had become familiar parts of my everyday life.
I continued with the portions from Physics from the unit Equations of motion. I also discussed various questions from the unit end. I covered the portions from 8th class Chemistry and Physics. The topics was Chemical formula of compounds and chemical equations. I also conducted diagnostic test in 8G class on 13th August 2025. I did the remedial teaching for the diagnostic test on 14th August 2025. I focused on connecting the lessons to real-life examples to make learning more relatable and meaningful. The students responded positively, and their enthusiasm during class discussions showed that they were truly engaged.
One of the key lessons I learned this week is the importance of patience and adaptability. Every class has a unique rhythm, and as a teacher, it’s essential to sense that rhythm and adjust accordingly. I also realized how small gestures — like appreciating a student’s effort or offering a word of encouragement — can make a big difference in building trust and motivation.
This week wasn’t just about teaching! I also took part in various extra-curricular activities like quiz program and tree sapling for friend program. Participating in school activities allowed me to connect with students beyond the classroom and experience the vibrant school culture.
As I reflect on this fifth week, I feel grateful for how much I’ve grown — not just as a teacher, but as a learner. Each day in the classroom continues to teach me something new about empathy, creativity, and the art of communication. The bond with my students has grown stronger, and that connection makes every effort worthwhile.
I’m looking forward to the upcoming weeks with renewed enthusiasm and a heart full of gratitude for this beautiful teaching journey.
