TEACHING PRACTICE- PHASE 1( WEEKLY REFLECTION-7 )

The seventh week of my teaching practice (15-09-25 to 17-09-25) was both productive and enriching. By this stage, I had developed a stronger rapport with my students, which made classroom interactions more natural and engaging.

I continued teaching the unit on Laws of motion and introduced new concepts such as Inertia, Newton's first law of motion and momentum for the 9th class. I continued with the portions from Physics from the unit Pressure with the topics liquid pressure and manometer for 8th class. I continued teaching the unit Metals and Non-metals with the topic reactions of metals with atmospheric air. I focused on connecting the lessons to real-life examples to make learning more relatable and meaningful. The students responded positively, and their enthusiasm during class discussions showed that they were truly engaged. I also took a lesson on Health education on the topic Communicable diseases.

This week was really important for me because my mentor Divya Miss came to observe the class. It was on 17th Wednesday. She observed my class in 9. I was taking the topic momentum.

This week, I emphasized activity-based learning. I conducted simple demonstrations using syringes and balloons to illustrate how air exerts pressure. The students showed keen interest and participated actively in group discussions. Their curiosity and enthusiasm motivated me to make the lessons more interactive and relatable.

I also focused on improving my classroom management and questioning techniques. I observed that varying the tone of my voice and using positive reinforcement helped in maintaining attention and encouraging participation. My mentor teacher appreciated my improvement in explanation and time management. We had K-Tet exam on Thursday and Friday. So we asked for leave to headmistress.

Overall, the seventh week helped me grow in confidence and adaptability as a teacher. I realized that effective teaching requires not just content knowledge but also patience, creativity, and the ability to connect with students emotionally and intellectually.
