TEACHING PRACTICE- PHASE 1( WEEKLY REFLECTION-6 )
After Onam vacation the classes restarted. The 6th week was from 08-09-2025 to 12-09-2025. Each week has been a unique learning experience, and this week was no different. By now, I feel completely at ease in the school environment my rapport with students and staff has deepened, and I’m starting to truly enjoy the rhythm of being a teacher.
This week, I started new units. In the 9C class I started the unit 'Laws of motion' and covered the topics resultant force balanced and unbalanced force, internal and external force. In the 8G class, I started the unit Metals and Non-metals. I completed the topics- the properties of metals like malleability, ductility, thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity. I tried to make the lessons more engaging through activities like group discussions, question games, and short presentations.
The students responded enthusiastically, and I could see a noticeable improvement in their participation and understanding. I also experimented with using visual aids and real-life examples to make abstract concepts easier to grasp. It was rewarding to see students’ eyes light up when they finally understood something that had seemed difficult before.
There was sports day on 12th September 2025(Friday). Students actively participated in various events like race, shot put, relay etc. We B.Ed trainees coordinated and encouraged students for their active participation.
The sixth week helped me realize how much I’ve grown since the first day of teaching practice. I’ve become more confident in handling the class, explaining concepts clearly, and managing time effectively. I’ve also learned that flexibility is key — sometimes, lessons don’t go exactly as planned, and that’s perfectly okay. What matters is how creatively we adapt and keep the students engaged.
Another important lesson I learned is the power of positive communication. A simple smile or word of encouragement can motivate even the quietest students to participate. Teaching isn’t just about delivering content — it’s about connecting, inspiring, and nurturing curiosity.
