TEACHING PRACTICE- PHASE 2 (WEEKLY REFLECTION- 3)

Week 3 of my second phase of teaching practice was a meaningful blend of learning, experimentation, and self-reflection. By this stage, I felt more settled and confident in my role, which allowed me to focus on enhancing the quality of my lessons and strengthening student engagement. This week, I made a conscious effort to integrate more learner-centered strategies into my teaching. Activities like concept mapping, short quizzes, and peer explanations helped students take ownership of their learning. I also tried using more real-life examples and demonstrations, which made even challenging concepts easier for them to grasp. It was encouraging to see students becoming more curious and willing to participate actively. One of my key goals this week was to improve formative assessment. I incorporated exit slips, quick oral checks, and reflective questions at the end of lessons. This not only helped me gauge student understanding but also guided my planning for the next day. I realized...

Teaching is not about answering questions but about raising questions." — Shimon Peres. The second phase of my teaching practice marked a significant step forward in my journey as a teacher trainee. This week allowed me to deepen my understanding of classroom dynamics, refine my teaching strategies, and strengthen my confidence as an educator. Returning to the school environment felt both familiar and refreshing, and I was able to build on the rapport established with students during the earlier phase. Throughout the week, I focused on delivering lessons more effectively by integrating a wider range of teaching aids and activity-oriented strategies. Visual aids, questioning techniques, and real-life examples proved especially useful in maintaining student interest and enhancing comprehension. I also made a conscious effort to cater to mixed-ability learners by giving additional support where needed and encouraging active participation from quieter students. Classroom management i...

TEACHING PRACTICE- PHASE 1( WEEKLY REFLECTION- 8 )

This week marked the eighth week (22-09-25 to 25-09-25) of my teaching practice. During this week, I focused mainly on revising the lessons I had taught earlier, especially the topic Pressure. I conducted recap sessions using quizzes, flashcards, and small group activities to make revision enjoyable. It was heartwarming to see how well the students responded — they remembered key concepts, used scientific terms confidently, and even related them to real-life examples. One of the most memorable moments this week was the students expressing their gratitude and affection. Their feedback made me realize that teaching is not just about imparting knowledge but about building trust and connection. Their enthusiasm gave me immense satisfaction and reaffirmed my decision to choose teaching as my profession. I also spent time reflecting on my own progress. Over these weeks, I learned to manage classrooms effectively, use different teaching aids, and adapt my methods according to students’ n...
